Sadly many people are looking for the answer in all the wrong things and places. We see this happening in our own families, churches and work places. Many people today are suffering from fear, anxiety, depression, loneliness and financial difficulties. As a result people often look for what they think will be the quick fix. A new relationship, self medicating with drugs or alcohol, buying something new or just wanting to escape to another area of the city or country. These are natural human responses that come from living in this world, in these human bodies that are corrupted by sin, our own sin and the sin of others around us. Unfortunately we all have worn the t-shirt at some point in our lives. Jesus gives us the answer by telling us in His Word that He is the answer. He gives to us the Holy Spirit when we accept Him as our personal Savior. When we truly decide to follow Him and live by faith He will show us the way to live through His Holy Spirit that is within each born again Christian. If you have not listened to Jeremy Camp’s song “The Answer” I encourage you to listen to it today. It will encourage and strengthen you as you strive to live by faith today.

When we read Mark 8:17-21 we see that Jesus’ disciples continue to think in limiting human terms when they are walking with Jesus worrying about things that Jesus can handle with just speaking a word. Jesus had to remind them who they were walking with. We should not limit God's power in our lives by our human thinking, worries and lack of faith but instead we should remember that God has the power to do anything if he is willing and we have faith.

The Bible teaches us to test all spirits and to set our minds on things above. The Bible also says that the mind governed by the flesh is death. As such we should cast down vain imaginations and other thoughts that are not Godly. We have to be careful not to open ourselves up to demonic attack by giving Satan the legal right to attack us through any unconfessed sin. Sin comes from our hearts into our minds and then is often acted out. Jesus taught us that even thinking about evil is sin. The Bible also teaches us that our battle is not against people but against spiritual wickedness. Entertaining evil thoughts is dangerous as the enemy is constantly looking for opportunities to introduce sin into our lives through every kind of temptation. Confess any known sin today asking the Lord to forgive you and to give to you a clean heart and mind. The Bible teaches us that God will forgive us of our sins if we confess our sins. We have an advocate with the Father, Christ Jesus. When we confess our sins we take away Satan's legal right to attack us through that sin but we still remain subject to any human consequences. The Bible teaches us that we should encourage one another. In spite of the challenges we are facing now or the pain we have suffered in the past we need to be encouraged realizing that we are a blessed people. Those who know Christ as their personal savior are highly valued. Jesus loves us and He tells us to take heart because He has overcome the world. So whatever you are going through today I want to encourage you and remind you that you are dearly loved and Jesus cares for each of us more than we can ever know. Take a minute today and encourage someone. Let them know that they are valued and loved by the Son of the Most High, our God, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus is exclusively worthy! John wrote the following about his vision of heaven.

“Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals. And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.””

You never know who or what God is going to bring to your table and it is usually not what you plan for or expect. The Bible teaches that all blessings come from God and we should give thanks to God in all circumstances even if the situation does not initially seem positive. Sometimes it is later until you see that a situation was actually a blessing. It is a blessing to be on the receiving end of God’s blessing but it is also a blessing to be the one asked by God to deliver His blessing to another. We should seek to understand how God is working in these circumstances as receiving an unexpected blessing is not a coincidence and being prompted by the Holy Spirit to be the one to deliver it is not a coincidence either.

The times we spend with the people we love are the most cherished in life. They are the times we remember, look back on and sometimes long to return. Life is ever changing like the seasons. Some days are warm and lovely while other days are cold and gloomy. Thank God that the seasons do change and that the cold days of winter turn to lovely warm days to remember.

Prayer - Heavenly Father thank you for all of the fond memories and always being there with me through the difficult times. Thank you for the encouragement that is in your Word and for the people you have placed in my life that love me and for the people that you have put in my life to love. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
