The Bible teaches that obedience is knowing and living our lives by God's Word The Bible.  Jesus is our example of perfect obedience in that He lived his life on this earth without sin and He was obedient to God's will even to die on a cross as the perfect sacrifice for all humanities sins so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life.   For a Christian, obedience grows out of our love for Christ as our example of perfect love.  When you become a Christian the Holy Spirit will come into your heart and give you a desire to love God and to love people.  You will start wanting to give more of yourself to serve Christ and to serve others from a spirit of love.

There are powerful evil forces at work in the world that want to take control of your mind.  The best way to remain obedient is to read The Bible daily, mediating on the words of this Supernatural Book.  Reflect on the meaning for your life as the Holy Spirit speaks to your heart.  Pray for the ability to discern the messages you are hearing from the culture, media and others to know if they are coming from the Holy Spirit or from the spirit of the antichrist who is seeking to steal souls away from God and to deceive and confuse believers by teaching and promoting messages that are disobedient to God's Word.  Confess any sin and repent of any ongoing sin in your life.  Ask forgiveness of anyone you have offended with your sin.  Get into a regular habit of praying for those people and things that God prompts you to pray for thanking Him for His grace and forgiveness as you strive to be obedient to Him in this sinful world.

Know that Jesus himself prayed for all believers just after He prayed for His disciples.  Jesus spoke this special prayer talking to God just hours before he went to the cross to be crucified.   See the Scripture copied just below.

Scripture References:

  • 20 “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, 21 that all of them may be one,Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one—23 I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.24“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am,and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world 25 “Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”  John 17:20-26
  • 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.  18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.  19 Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live.  On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.  21 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”  John 14:15-186
  • In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.  John 1: 1-5
  • 1 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.  1 John 4:3
