The Bible tells us that we must worship in "Spirit and in truth".  True worship of the living God is not possible without the Holy Spirit within the person worshiping.  When a group of people get together to truly worship God from their hearts true believers know that the Spirit of God is present.   True worship stems from knowing Jesus Christ the person that Christians worship as God.  Worship comes from the heart of the person who is in awe of an all powerful, loving Creator of all that is and all that will ever be.  Jesus rebuke the religious leaders of His time by saying, "They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules."  True worship from a believer in Christ who has been born again and baptized stems from their faith in the One whom they worship knowing that they have been accepted and saved by grace thus their gratitude to God overflows through their worship.  Worship is a very personal experience that comes from the heart of the person who knows that they are in an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ their God.
