God's unmerited favor and love that saves us through faith in Jesus Christ

Amazing Grace

Understanding God's incredible gift of unmerited favor

The Bad News and The Good News

As we discussed previously, the Bible states that "the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). That is the bad news.

The good news is that Jesus paid the debt for those who believe. (1 John 2:2). This is the best news ever! Jesus Christ died for our sins and according to the Gospel was crucified, buried, and was resurrected on the third day.

God's Amazing Love

God's love for each and every individual is amazing. He provided the way out of an eternity separated from Him. "God’s heart is eternally inclined toward you. Even when we were far off, He moved toward us in love by providing Jesus Christ as the bridge back to Him. When we trust in Him, we are enveloped in an ocean of grace that never runs dry—a constant supply of mercy for our failures and strength for our journey." Isaiah 30:18, Hebrews 4:16, John 1:14

The grace that God extends to believers is unmerited—there is absolutely nothing we can do to earn it. The Bible teaches that, "we are justified through faith and not through works." (Galations 2:16, Romans 3:28) It is faith in Jesus that brings salvation and eternal life with God. (Colossians 1:13-14)

Grace: A Gift from God

It is by God's grace that every believer has been saved, through their faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible teaches that "this is not from yourself but it is a gift from God." (Ephesians 2:8). This gift cannot be earned through good works, religious activities, or personal merit. (Romans 10:10, Romans 4:5)

God calls sinners to Himself to offer this amazing grace. You are not at this website now by accident or by chance. God is calling you to Himself through the Holy Spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:13–14)—either to salvation through Jesus or to a deeper relationship with Him if you are already a follower of Christ.
